The Inaugural The Dale Harrop Foundation Cup

On the 8th of June, there was a mighty battle between the Canterbury Red Devils and the West Auckland Admirals for the inaugural competition for The Dale Harrop Foundation Cup.

The idea came to the us at the Foundation as Dale played in both teams throughout his career and we decided that this was a great way in remembering Dale’s career in both of these teams.

The West Auckland Admirals hosted the event in Auckland, where they graciously donated 17% of the ticket sales to the game - a poignant amount as Dale played the #17 for the Admirals.

The game started off with a bang! You could tell both teams were fighting tooth and nail for a chance to win the cup. However in the end it was the West Auckland Admirals that went home with the win, beating the Red Devils 8-3.

The Foundation would love to thank Auckland Ice Hockey Association for donating generously to the Foundation and for the Admirals and Red Devils for giving the fans an amazing game to watch!
